Connie Ciccone
Another life dramatically changed by the grace and power of Jesus Christ.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. Connie Ciccone grew up in a household with many brothers and sisters, but no Christian guidance. Her parents taught her that hard work were the keys to happiness and fulfillment. As in many cases Connie came from a family where alcohol and abuse were normal day traumas.
However, her great-grandmother Mattie Anderson had a great influence on Connie Ciccone at a young age. Granny as she called her, was a deaf mute and ministered at a Methodist Church in the over the Rhine area. Connie remembered songs and scriptures at the young age of 5 and would often pray with her Granny in many times of need.
By the dawn of her teenage years, she was looking for peace and contentment and ran away from her parents. She was told never to come home again. At a young age Connie Ciccone had nowhere to go and slept on park benches, and fell into the arms of older man. Connie became pregnant and had to also run away from this abusive man for fear of losing her child. She ran to her relatives in Colorado and gave birth to a son and gave him up for adoption at the young age of 16. She came back to Cincinnati where she began to work and live on her own until one horrifying night was sexual abused by her older brother.
This is where Connie Ciccone began to draw from her Faith to find her God. She met the man she prayed for and has been happily married to Glenn for 22 years. Connie’s transformation began after her mother died and she was given a picture of her great-grandmother. She wanted to replace the frame and inside the backing was a letter from Granny.
Granny wrote: You are a child of Jesus and he lives in you and me. I pray that you will receive Jesus Spirit in you. You will be the teacher one day like me. Minister to those who are sad, Pray that Jesus will help you. Luke 11: 10 “For everyone who asks receives; those who seek find: and to those who knock, the door will be opened.” Granny is old and tired but Jesus loves me this I know for the bible tells me so. Read the Bible … Love Granny
Today, Connie Ciccone has dedicated herself to proclaiming that same life-giving message to others. Residing with her husband, Glenn in their country home, she devotes her time to teaching the Scriptures in to whomever God brings into her life daily. Each day before she arises she prays Lord you have blessed me so much place someone in my life that I may bless today. Connie’s ministry is one of sharing the truth of Jesus Christ with those in need.
